First Analysis

This photograph was taken  by Annie Liebovitz. Annie is an American portrait photographer born in Waterbury, Connecticut on 2nd Octorber 1949. In 1970 she began working for "The Rolling Stone" magazine after studying art and music.  This photo is part of the "Alice in Wonderland" shoot she did in 2003 for Vogue.
This series of work includes many picture of a girl in a blue dress, each dress is different but it links the pictures together whilst giving each photo a unique feel.
She has used small props to show "Alice" has grown. The way she is positioned emphasises that she is in a cramped space.
I think this photo was taken in a studio with a digital camera. It is bright and your attention is immediately drawn to Alice before you start to notice the small furniture. the lights would have been positioned straight on as there is little shadow.
I like this picture because it shows the story of Alice in Wonderland very well. It is original and creative and along with the other photograpghs in the series it tells the story in an interesting way. I also like that quotes from the book have been added to the photo.
